Memorable Meals? – What, Where And When.?
In April 2006 my daughter and grandson were in Provincetown, Cape Cod, USA with me on a cold wet day. Being out of season most places were closed but we found an empty coffee shop and sat at a window table. The two guys made us banana pancakes with maple syrup and kept the excellent coffee coming until we warmed up. We must have looked as if we were enjoying it as in no time the place began to fill up.
We had bigger and more expensive meals on our holiday from the UK but this was undoubtedly the most memorable because it was just what we needed at the time and was first class.
Question For Environmentalists..?
If Ted Kennedy is such a friend to the GREEN cause then why is he opposed to a wind farm off Cape Cod?
Is it because he doesn’t want to see anything out is $3600 double pained Anderson window, while gazing at his multi million dollar view?
Is it because the spinning reminds him of his car in Chappaquiddick?
Is it because he just can’t stand to seen anything spinning after 10AM?
Err Uhh… Oh Gwad… err uhh make the spinnin staap make it staap !
Someone get me a DRINK!
I think we should have a National Holiday when that fool takes his last drink – I was sort of hoping when he fell down drunk at Obama Fest he was finished – too bad the ol bastard survived.
Thanksgiving Always Had Religious Connotations….you Think I’m Wrong?
Is Thanksgiving A Religious Holiday?
By Tom Barrett (12/02/03)
Thanksgiving is a national holiday. But long before it was recognized as such by President Lincoln, Americans understood clearly that it was a special time for a Christian nation to set aside time to thank their Heavenly Father for His many blessings.
103 Pilgrims arrived on the Mayflower on the shores of Cape Cod in November, 1620. 51 of them died that first terrible winter. Yet even in the face of such great loss, they set aside a day for prayer and Thanksgiving after their first harvest. Although it was not recognized as such at the time, this was the beginning of the yearly Thanksgiving celebration.
Over the years Americans celebrated Thanksgiving informally without benefit of any governmental proclamation. After all, God’s children have never needed the approval of government to offer thanks to Him.
In 1817 the State of New York adopted Thanksgiving as an official holiday. Many other states followed suit, until in 1863 Abraham Lincoln appointed a national day of Thanksgiving. Since then, every President has issued a Thanksgiving Day proclamation for the fourth Thursday in November. These proclamations, even when uttered by the most immoral of presidents, always mention gratitude to God. This is because they know that most Americans still acknowledge that God is the source of every good thing we receive.

Getaway’s Close To Manhattan?
I’m looking at going away over the winter and i want somewhere relatively close to Manhattan like Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, Conneticut etc. I’m pretty open to sugestion.
Basically i just want somewhere to relax, watch dvd’s, eat out and cook etc. I’m looking at renting a holiday house.
I wouldn’t mind somewhere on a beach, but its not necessary. Budget isn’t a huge factor in the decision.
Thanks in advance everyone
Does Anyone Think He Likes Me?
i went down to cape cod with my neighbors two years ago. i met my neighbors cousin, patrick. the moment i saw him i seriously fell inlove. there was a dance at a beach club and he told everyone he was going to ask me to dance, i fell alseep on his shoulder and he fell alseep on mine. there was a porch swing and he would let me on and not my sister, and we would always sit next to eachother, also i had to sit on his lap on the way to the dance. at christmas time everyone said that he was much quieter than usual and he put his arm around me in a picture. i went to his house for the marshfield fair, and he didnt talk that much and i didnt either. when he first saw me he was shocked. and i saw him recently and he was different there too. does he have feelings for me and is he hiding it? help me out. how can i tell and ask if he likes me ! i really need help i love him more than you will ever know
What Do You Think About Obama’s Upcoming $50,000+ Vacation To Martha’s Vineyard?
In the midst of the worst economic downturn in a century, while the concept of a “staycation” has become commonplace because people can’t afford to take vacations too far from home these days, President Obama has decided to rent a $50,000/week compound on the exclusive island of Martha’s Vineyard off Cape Cod.
Now, there is nothing wrong with a vacation, and he is spending his own money (not including the tens of thousands in extra tax dollars his security and logistics will cost us), but what message does this send about his judgement when he is taking such a vacation during these tough times?
At a minimum this should affirm that Obama is just an elitist snob, who cares little about the “common man” who makes less in a year than he is spending on a one-week vacation.
What do you think?
Oh, and this has nothing to do with George Bush, so please, if that is your response, please go earn your points elsewhere — I am looking for serious responses by people who can think past their hatred of our last President. Thank you.
I Would Like To Live With My Mother?
Hello, everyone. I have a very serious issue. My parents are divorced, and they have been ever since I was a baby. I live with my father, since he has a good, steady job and my mother thought that it would be best for me. She’s an artist who lives in a cute house by the sea. She paints and makes jewelry and art out of sea glass and seashells. She is also the one who gave me the name Marissa, which means “Star of the Sea”. I’ve only seen her a few times since I was born: on Christmas 2005 (when I was 10), on my fifth b-day, when I graduated elementary school, and on my 13th b-day (I’m 14). Each time I met her she brought lovely presents, including jewelry she made and some of her paintings. When I turned 13 last year, she gave me a beautiful snow white kitten that she found wandering the shore. I named her Noelle. Each time I saw my mother, she was very kind, loving, and gentle, but my father never even let her kiss, hug, or even touch me. It’s not like my mom’s a bad person. They only got the divorce because my dad met “someone else”. Him and his girlfriend are still in a relationship and she’s just horrid. She hates me but LOVES my sister (who’s 16). His girlfriend is constantly putting me down and saying mean things.
Also, my dad favors my older sister. A LOT. He buys her so much stuff and gives her so many pets that she never takes care of, so I have to do it. She has all of the designer brands and is also quite nasty to me. I also dislike my dad because he doesn’t show me love, and just flat out ignores me.
To live with my mother, he would have to sign papers, and I’m wondering how to ask him. I’m afraid he’ll get mad at me. We live in Pennsylvania and my mom lives in Cape Cod, so I would probably take a bus to get to her, since NO WAY would my dad drive me. I would have to bring my kitten Noelle, and my sisters pets as well, since she doesn’t take care of them. She has a black kitten named Jinx (who I named), a golden-colored hamster named Sunny, and 2 white mice named Daisy and Snow. I myself don’t have many belongings. I have clothes, shoes, and accessories, but not that many of them because most of my outfits are mix and match so I don’t need many pieces of clothing and such. I also have a guitar, my white laptop (another gift from my mom) and stuff from my room. I wouldn’t bring furniture, though, only some little things.
So, in short, how do I ask my dad that I want to live with my mom, and how do I get there?

How Do I Write An Essay On This?
in many respects the american character has been shaped by the moral, ethical, and religious convictions of the Puritans. In 1620, just before christmas, the first and most famous group of these English Puritans landed on the tip of Cape Cod. They were followed ten years later by about seven hundred more Puritan settlers. By 1640, as many as twenty thousand English Puritans had sailed to what they called New England. although the real commerce of the Puritans was with heaven, they were competent in the business of the world as well. It is important to remember that the founding of a new society in North America was a business venture as well as a spiritual one. For the Puritans the every day world and the spiritual world were very closely intertwined.

In Missing Child Cases, Do The Police Look Everywhere?
http://www.metro.co.uk/weird/article.htm…
“A toddler who was reported missing for three hours was later found hidden in bed.
Police launched an intensive search involving dozens of officers after the alarm was raised.
Neigbours up to three-quarters of a mile away were notified by police and urged to keep a look out.
But the two-year-old was later found ‘crying and quivering’ lying under pillows in bed in the New York family’s holiday home in Cape Cod.”
